Privacy Policy
Last updated October 9, 2026
Clarity is a private space to think through what's happening in your relationship. This page explains what we keep, why we keep it, and who else handles it. If you have any questions, email [email protected].
What we keep
- Your account. Your email, the name you give us, and your password, which our sign-in provider stores scrambled so no one can read it. If you sign in with Google, we get your name and email from Google.
- Your PIN. If you set one, it's stored scrambled, so no one can read it, us included.
- Your conversation. The messages you send and Clarity's replies. The text of every message is encrypted before it's saved.
- What Clarity remembers. A summary of the older part of your conversation, and short notes about things you've told it, like who the people in your life are. You can see the notes in Settings and delete any of them. Both are encrypted the same way as your messages.
- What Clarity writes for you. Notes like something to sit with, or a check-in when you come back. These are encrypted too.
- Your plan. Whether you're on Free or Pro, how many replies you've used this month, and the details of your Pro subscription from Paystack, like the amount, the dates and Paystack's reference codes. We never see or keep your card details.
If you use Clarity without an account
Your conversation is kept in your own browser, not on our servers. To get you a reply, your messages pass through our server to our AI provider, but we don't save them. We keep a random guest ID and how many replies it has used this month, so the free limit works.
Who reads your conversations
No one at Clarity reads your conversations. Your messages are encrypted when they're saved, and our server only unlocks them to show them to you and to send them to our AI provider so Clarity can reply.
Who else handles your data
We use a few services to run Clarity, and each one only gets what it needs.
- Anthropic, our AI provider, receives your messages to write Clarity's replies. Anthropic doesn't use them to train its models.
- Supabase runs our database and sign-in. Our data is kept in London.
- DigitalOcean runs our server, also in London.
- Cloudflare protects the site, checks that new guests are people and not bots, and counts visits to our pages without cookies and without identifying you.
- Resend sends our emails, like the one that confirms your account.
- Paystack takes payments for Pro. Your card details go to Paystack and never to us.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and apart from Cloudflare's visit counts, we don't use analytics or tracking tools.
Cookies and browser storage
We use cookies to keep you signed in. Your browser also stores your theme, and if you're a guest, your conversation. Cloudflare may set its own cookies to protect the site from attacks and bots.
Your choices
- You can delete anything Clarity remembers about you from Settings.
- You can clear your whole history from Settings. That deletes every message and everything Clarity remembers straight away.
- You can download your conversation from Settings.
- You can delete your account from Settings. That deletes your account, conversation and notes straight away, and cancels Pro if you have it. Paystack keeps its own record of past payments.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and conversation until you delete them.
Age
Clarity is only for people who are 18 or older.
